If Iker Casillas leaves Real Madrid, 45% believe he’ll go to eternal rivals Barcelona

With speculation rife over Iker Casillas’ future, and the chances of him finishing his career at his boyhood club Real Madrid decreasing steadily with every game spent watching from the bench, the next question the Spanish press are wondering is: where would he go?

MARCA ran a survey among 26,000 readers (the majority of whom are invariably Real Madrid supporters), asking which team would be his most likely destination.

A staggering 11,000, representing 45% of those questioned, believe he’ll defect to eternal rivals Barcelona!

The next clubs cited were Arsenal (31%), and Man City (10%), followed by Bayern, Monaco and Juve.

Could San Iker really defect to the eternal rivals Barcelona?

It’s a surprising result, as such a move would truly tear the country apart, with Casillas an absolute symbol of Madridismo, and any move to Barcelona would be unforgivable in most Madridistas eyes, and would render him a pariah in his own city.
